Jake's Friday Tapping: Lincoln- New Belgium Tart Lychee / Omaha- Ommegang Witte‏

Friday (5/11) tapping parties for the Lincoln & Omaha Jake's

LINCOLN JAKE'S: It's the Lincoln Jake's turn for a crack at 'Tart Lychee', New Belgium Lips of Faith's newest release.  Another unique blend of sour ale aged in oak, Tart Lychee was made with the addition of Lychee fruit and cinnamon.

Brewery Description: "According to Lauren [Salazar], the imaginator of this pucker-pleasing ale, lychee fruit is so insanely sweet and flavorful you almost can’t stand it alone. Sour to the rescue! The combination of our barrel-aged sour beer, lychee fruit puree, and cinnamon sticks pours a frothy head of tart perfection."

5:00 pm Jake's Lincoln (14th & P St.)

OMAHA JAKE'S: Let's face it, the weather seems to be getting ready to punish us for the mild winter we enjoyed, but have no fear, because Omaha will be tapping one of the most refreshing beers we can think of, Ommegang Witte from Cooperstown, New York.

Brewery Description: "Once the hard work is done, especially after a long hot day in the sun, WItte will bring you back to life.  Maybe that's because Witte itself comes from a beer style that was resurrected from extinction until an ambitious Belgian brewer revived it nearly three decades ago.  Our version is uniquely refreshing and uniquely Ommegang.  We make it a little less sweet so there's more of a wheat tang in the finish.  Let it replenish you in the summer.  Or when you want to be reminded of summer."

5:30 pm Jake's Omaha (62nd & Maple)
