We brew the wort and you add some yeast and copious amounts of creativity to ferment and age it to your whim!

How to Enter:
- Entries will be taken on Friday February 8th and Saturday February 9th.
- Registration must be made in person at Nebraska Brewing Company during business hours
- Please be prepared to supply

The Wort:
- Basic Wheat wort
- Cooled, unaerated and unyeasted
- Recipe:
- Malt
- 47.5% Brewers 2-Row
- 47.5% Red Wheat Malt
- 5% Caramel 10
- Hops
- 60 min. Liberty for 17.6 IBU (equivalent to ~.85 oz. in 5 gallons)
- 15 min. Liberty for 2.4 IBU (equivalent to ~.25 oz. in 5 gallons)
- 13.2 Plato/1.053 OG
- 20 IBU
- Color 4.0 SRM
- Mash Temperature 152 F for 60 minutes
- Malt
Wort Pick Up:
- Friday March 1st ~ 4 to 6:30 pm, or Saturday March 2nd ~ 11am to 1pm
- ** Be aware, due to the shelf life of fresh wort, pick-up times will be strictly enforced, if you do not pick up your wort during these times you'll forfeit your entry.
- Each entry will get you 5gal of wort
- bring your own sanitized carboy or fermentation bucket with a lid
- 2 entry limit
- Each carboy/bucket fill must be followed up with a beer entry
Labeling Instructions
- The following MUST be on each of the 6 bottles for entry
- Brewers Name
- Beer Name
- Categories
- Traditional Wheat, Hoppy, Fruit/Spice, and Experimental
- A short description of special ingredients or processes used.
Beer Drop Off:
- Friday May 10th, 2013 through Saturday May 11th, 2013
- Both days we'll accept entries from 11am to 9pm @ Nebraska Brewing Company - Papillion, NE 68046.
- Each Entry must be accompanied by:
- 6 - 12oz bottles - labeled correctly
- Only bottled beer will be accepted for competition
- For each 5gal of wort you receive you must enter at least 6 - 12oz bottles, if you choose to supply your entries in bigger bottles, we still require 6 total bottles
- 6 - 12oz bottles - labeled correctly
Judging:
- Judging is expected to take place on Tuesday May 14th, 2013
- All judges will be professionals in the brewing industry or BJCP trained judges.
- *if you know any one that fits this criteria and you think they might want to volunteer to judge, please let us know.
- Currently working on making this competition a sanctioned event – stay tuned.
- Judging will be based on & Awards/Prizes given for the following categories; Traditional Wheat, Hoppy, Fruit/Spice, Experimental & Best in show.
- All judges will be professionals in the brewing industry or BJCP trained judges.
Awards Ceremony and Tasting Party
- Thursday May 16th, 2013 6-9pm @ Nebraska Brewing Company - Papillion, NE 68046
