Your Truly Independent Source for Craft Beer News in Nebraska

We started this blog nearly 6 years ago, and since that time, we have brought on several independent contributors to the blog.  Our goal is to provide you with the most up-to-date information on craft beer in Nebraska, and specifically, craft breweries in Nebraska.

We bring our passion for craft beer to the table, and strive to share that information as we get it.  We love the craft beer industry, but we don't work for the industry.  We are independent and unbiased, and will always be that way.
We have built our reputation on a passion for the craft beer movement and commitment to our readers.  We are fans like you, and we feel that there is something going on that needs to be addressed.  Most of you are probably not aware about an Omaha beer distributor starting a website (nebraskacraftbeer.com) and Twitter account (@nebraskabeer) claiming...

“If you love to taste American Craft Beers, then you've come to the right place. We are a voice for Nebraskan's who love American Owned and Made Beers. However, we never shy away from the roots of our fine European craft beers. We just love quality beer!”

On the surface this looks like it’s a good thing for craft beer in Nebraska (if it’s done openly and honestly).  However, they do not (or rarely) post news about a beer that they do not distribute, nor mention they are a distributor.  For instance, they did not post or tweet a single thing about Stone coming to Nebraska.  Maybe because they do not distribute them in Nebraska.

We absolutely have no problem with a distributor posting news/events for their beers on their website or Twitter account.  Why would we?  However, we do not like them being deceptive.

Considering how open the craft beer culture is, we shouldn't have to write a post like this.  But, damn it, this is our baby (more like a kid now).

Thanks for your support all these years, and your continued support going forward.

I had no idea! I thought it was weird that they only seemed to Tweet about certain brands of beer.. and I didn't think their website was too helpful, either..

That's really disappointing to hear about the deception. But honestly, reading this, their posts and info make sense now.

Keep up the good work - it is very much appreciated! :)
