BeerQuest Rye IPA on Tap!

Just received this from Jim at Empyrean.

Brewers,
Jim Anciaux's Rye IPA is finished and has been kegged! We tapped the first keg late last night at Lazlo's South for a staff training. Haymarket will be tapping the beer early Thursday afternoon. FireWorks and Lazlo's Omaha are still working through some Maibock and should tap the IPA towards the end of next week.
I personally think the beer turned out excellent - it's extremely well balanced for a 64 IBU beer and the Rye adds just the right amount of snappy-bready character.
Stop by and visit us over the next few weeks for a pint or two - we brewed 30 barrels so it should last a good six weeks or so. Growlers are available at the Haymarket restaurant only.

Also as a reminder we'll have 2 firkins of the Rye IPA on hand for our July 7th Brewery Tour & Cask Night - also on cask that night will be the Summer Common. Typically all of you have turned out in droves for the Beer Quest beers on Cask - don't show up too late - Mark Beatty's Irish Red firkins were gone in about 4 hours or by 8pm!

One last event reminder - Friday - Sunday June 27, 28th & 29th eight of the Nebraska Craft Brewers will have beer down at the Omaha Summer Arts Festival, 13th & Farnum in the World Music Pavilion. The Summer Arts folks have put together another brilliant array of music http://www.summerarts.org/2008/worldmusic.html.
The beer lineup won't be anything too out-of-site as all of us brewers realize the Arts Fest draws a disproportionate number of people seeking "light" beer. Participating breweries are: Upstream, Empyrean, Nebraska, Thunderhead, Gottberg, Spilker, Modern Monks and Schilling Bridge. There will be 14 beers on tap - Chris at Upstream is in charge of our volunteer schedule and as of last week we have all the volunteers we need.
Cheers!
Jim
Prost!!
Nate
