Homebrew Club - Broken Bow

I am going to start this off in a series of posts from all of the homebrew clubs in Nebraska. Please feel free to email me your stories and I will add them sporadically on the site to spread them out.

I am a member of The Motley Brew Crew in Broken Bow, NE. We were started in 2006 by a group of about 4 of us at the time. We are a very informal group that also has a significant wine making element to our club. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of ever month at a local bar/restaurant that is very craft beer friendly, Huckleberry's Hideout in Broken Bow. Our meetings have generally consisted of sharing in our brews and wine and helping out new members decide on how to improve their beer/wine or help them decide what to make next. We currently have no membership dues and no leadership structure, with our busy lives we didn't want this to be another meeting that everyone HAD to attend. We want to keep it loose, inviting and informative. I will be breaking from the free flow norm at our next meeting with a beer and wine judging education. We hope that will spawn off more people to bring what they know to the table and teach us all something while still keeping it loose. I would guess that we have around 15-20 loose members in our club and we are always willing to have more. We also hope to participate in the Shootout with the Lagers and Omahops this year.

If you are live around our area and would like to learn more please contact me.
