Annoucement About Lucky Bucket Belly Flop

Have you noticed a little something extra in your Belly Flop lately? Don't worry. Lucky Bucket is aware of it and even though it's only a little extra strawberry puree, they're willing to swap you bottles after July 22nd if you so desire.

Here's what they said in their email newsletter:
Attention craft beer lovers and Belly Flop fans!  Due to the ridiculous amount of strawberry we added to Belly Flop this year, we have noticed the strawberry puree settling out in the bottles.  Although this is purely additional flavor, we realize it is not super appealing.  By pouring slowly into a glass the strawberry should stay in the bottom of the bottle, however if you choose, we have tweaked our filtering process and would be happy to swap your six-pack for another when the next batch is done (July 22nd).
Cheers!

New Single Batch Beer Available from Lucky Bucket

Lucky Bucket has released a new single batch beer to select venues and, of course, their own tasting room. It is a "coffee cream stout" called Superfly. See below for the press release details.
Lucky Bucket Brewing Company Releases Brand New Single Batch, Superfly, a Coffee Cream Stout
LA VISTA, NE – Lucky Bucket Brewing Company is happy to announce the release of it’s latest creation as a part of its Single Batch Series; Superfly, a Coffee Cream Stout. This is the first year Lucky Bucket has produced Superfly, and it will only be available on tap in the tasting room and at select local bars and restaurants.
Since the 17th century, stout beer has been known for its traditional rich, roasty flavor and bold aroma making this beer style one of the most popular in the world. Fast forward to today to the exciting craft beer landscape, the Lucky Bucket crew has brewed a classic stout beer with an American twist. A little milk sugar, a little vanilla, and a boat load of locally roasted coffee has transformed this brew into our latest Single Batch creation - "Superfly" Coffee Cream Stout. It'svelvety body and smooth finish balance it's big, roasted flavor. With "wake you up in the morning" coffee flavor and aroma, "Superfly" is a beer brewed for both stout lovers and coffee lovers alike! This particular style was created with the help of a local roaster. “We are very excited to team up with a local coffee roaster Jason Burkum,” says Head Brew Master Mike Cunningham, “The coffee notes are really what make this particular stout stand out.”
Established in 2008 as the first production brewery in the Omaha area, Lucky Bucket Brewery
has been dedicated to producing exceptional craft beer right here in Nebraska and hopes that the continued exposure of the Single Batch Series draws in more craft beer lovers to try beers with different flavor profiles. “You never know what you might like until you try it,” said President Jason Payne “the next craft beer you try may become your new favorite.”
To sample any of the beers visit the Lucky Bucket tasting room Wednesday through Friday 4pm-10pm, and Saturdays 11am-5pm.

Two New Single Batch Beers from Lucky Bucket

Lucky Bucket has two new single batch beers available in their tasting room. See their press release below for more details.

Lucky Bucket Brewing Company Releases Beyond the Pail and El Mastodon
As A Part Of Their Single Batch Series
LA VISTA, NE – Lucky Bucket Brewing Company is happy to announce the release of two new brews as a part of its Single Batch Series; Beyond the Pail, a Belgian Pale Ale, and the anticipated return of El Mastodon, an American Barleywine. This is the first year Lucky Bucket has produced the Beyond the Pail, and it will only be available on tap in the tasting room and at select local bars and restaurants. El Mastodon was last brewed by Lucky Bucket two years ago and has returned once again because of its initial popularity.
Lucky Bucket began its single batch series shortly after launching, in 2009 to create and develop different beer styles to be enjoyed by its fans. Some of the previous creations went on to become house staples for the brewery, such as the Oktoberfest Seasonal and Certified Evil that today are both bottled and distributed. “Doing single batch beers allows the brewers to experiment with recipes and ingredients and come up with something new” says President Jason Payne, “We’ve discovered a lot of Lucky Bucket favorites through the Single Batch Series.”
Established in 2008, Lucky Bucket Brewery has been dedicated to producing exceptional craft beer right here in the Omaha and La Vista area and hopes that the continued exposure of the Single Batch Series draws in more craft beer lovers to try beers with different flavor profiles. The market’s reaction has been tremendous. “People wait all year for some of these single batches, like our Big Pimpkin that was released in the fall, it only lasted two weeks,” says Mike Cunningham, Head Brewer. “It allows us to be more daring with a recipe as well since it’s brewed in a much smaller quantity.”
Lucky Bucket’s next single batch beer will be a smoked chile porter called Up In Smoke. The beer is expected to be released sometime in January. To sample any of these beers visit the Lucky Bucket tasting room Wednesday through Friday 4pm-10pm, and Saturdays 11am-5pm.

Borgata Brewery & Distillery to Launch Crowdsourcing Campaign via Kickstarter.com

Here's a chance to help bring a new brewery and distillery to Omaha.
Borgata Brewery & Distillery to Launch Crowdsourcing Campaign via Kickstarter.com
Omaha’s new and only brewer-distiller has 45 days to attract $30,000 in pledges on kickstarter.com.  Campaign kickoff party planned for September 26
Omaha, NE – September 18, 2013 – Zac Triemert, Omaha’s only internationally-trained master brewer and distiller, today announced that Borgata Brewery and Distillery will launch a crowd-sourced financing campaign on Kickstarter.com.

The Kickstarter campaign will launch on Tuesday, September 24th with the release of their kickstarter video appeal, featuring partners Zac Triemert and Holly Mulkins, and set amidst the construction of their new brewery and distillery in Old Market Omaha.  Funds from the campaign will finance the opening of their one-of-a-kind tasting room, featuring small-bite dishes from local Omaha restaurants, with ingredients sourced from local farms and producers.

Borgata will host a kickoff party on September 26th to promote the campaign and preview plans for the new beers, American single malt whiskeys, and a variety of all-malt whiskeys they will bring to the Omaha market.

Borgata Kickstarter Kickoff PartyThursday, September 26, 6-9pmThe New BLK1213 Jones St., Omaha, Nebraska 68102https://www.facebook.com/events/168360993353537/
“From local sourcing of our key ingredients, to a new focus on sustainability, Borgata is bringing innovative business practices to Omaha’s burgeoning brewing landscape.  Our crowdsourcing campaign with Kickstarter.com is just another example of our commitment to innovation and creative thinking,” said Mulkins.

Kickstarter.com is a new way to finance everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology.  Artists, authors, designers and entrepreneurs outline their projects and record their visions via video.  Supporters receive incentives in exchange for their financial backing.   Kickstarter has been described as “paradigm-shifting” by CNN and “pioneering” by The New York Times.
For as little as $5, Omahans can help bring the first distillery since prohibition back to the City of Omaha.  Supporter incentives include a number of fun and unique items and events.  From joining the list of supporters online ($5), to a custom print from famed local artist and Borgata designer David Koenig ($150), to designing your own custom Borgata brew ($3500), donors can help build the tasting room of Omaha’s own brewery and distillery.

“With the help of our Omaha community, we can go from good, to exceptional,” added Triemert.  “And supporters can become a part of our family, part of our business, part of Old Market Omaha.”

The tasting room will offer unique beers and spirits produced in small batch that are only available on-site. As part of their commitment to local sourcing and sustainability, the retail location will celebrate the current farm-to-table movement by offering small-bite dishes made from ingredients sourced from local farmers as much as possible.

Triemert earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin and Master’s Degree’s in Brewing and Distilling from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has been a brewer in Omaha for more than a decade and has contributed significantly to the city’s beer culture.

Triemert has won numerous national beer and spirits awards over the years. He also was named Young Business Person of the Year by the Midlands Business Journal in 2010, Food and Wine named him Top 40 Movers and Shakers in Food in 2010 and Worth Magazine included him on the Top 20 Young Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2011.

New Seasonal Beer from Lucky Bucket

Lucky Bucket has just announced their newest addition to their seasonal beer lineup, a strawberry blonde ale called "Flip Flop."

Here's what they have to say about it:
This new creation from Lucky Bucket Brewing Co. will be available during the summer months, in both bottle and keg format. The kegs are ready for sale now in 1/2 bbl & 1/6 bbl , and we will be releasing the bottles next week on Monday.
Flip Flop Strawberry Blonde's pale straw color, light body, and delicate flavor come from the recipe's abundant use of the best American Two-Row malted barley and Pacific Northwest hops.  The slight haze, strawberry aroma and flavor are infused into this beer by using 100% seedless strawberries nurtured by the California sun.  Add enjoyment to all your summer festivities with some Lucky Bucket Strawberry Blonde Ale!  4.5% ABV.
It's Berry Delicious!

Deschutes Brewery Update

Last week we posted that Deschutes is planning on beginning distribution of their beer in Nebraska soon. I contacted Deschutes to confirm this news and it is true! Exactly when this will happen is not yet set in stone because they are working on getting 5 new 1300 bbl tanks installed in the next month, but I expect that as soon as those tanks are installed and operational, we will see Deschutes beer in our local stores!
