Beertopia, Crescent Moon's beer store, announced today the New Belgium tasting tickets are on sale now. The price is $15 and there is a supply of 35 tickets. Here is a copy of their e-mail.
Greetings from Beertopia!
We have an exciting and unique tasting scheduled for Thursday, October 18th 7:00-9:00 p.m. This tasting is hosted by New Belgium Brewing Co. We are privileged to have Eric and Lauren Salazar from NBB Co. as our presenters. Eric is a Brewer and Cellar Operator as well as Cooperative Owner. Eric's wife, Lauren, is the Sensory Specialist and a member of the QA team.
Please be aware that 4 out of the 7 beers are extremely complex and fall into the Belgian Sour category. Brent has kindly put together great descriptions for each of the beers to be sampled. They are as follows:
La Folie: Mouthwateringly sour with notes of cherries and apples; the oak aging is apparent as is a bready malt component. Funky. Spicy. Fruity. La Folie is the highest rated Flanders Red Ale on BeerAdvocate.com.
La Folie (Falling Rock Edition): Chris Black, of Falling Rock Taphouse in Denver, has added his own twist to La Folie; the end result is an extra funky version “spiked” with wild yeast.
Le Terroir: Sweet and sour, fruity and citric, Le Terroir, is aged 3 years in barrels and then dry-hopped with Amarillo hops. Oh my…
Eric’s Ale: Acidic and sour yet peachy with spicy/wild yeast characteristics; fruity with sweetness interwoven… this is a truly complex (and rare) ale.
Mothership Wit: An organic Belgian White Ale; subtle spiciness with a bright coriander flavor and a hint of orange. An outstanding Wit brewed in a true Belgian fashion.
1554: The famed Brussels Black Ale, one of New Belgium’s most unique beers; hints of toffee and chocolate with just a kiss of sweetness and dark fruits.
2° Below Winter Ale: A true winter warmer; toasty malts with a flowery-herbal hop bouquet. Think of it as a strong version of Fat Tire!
This is a formal tasting and only 35 tickets are available. Tickets are $15 and include your beer samples, a New Belgium chalice to keep and light appetizers. Tickets are on sale now only at Beertopia. We anticipate these tickets to sell out quickly.
Just a reminder, we have a great deal on 3 beers great for the fall. Hobgoblin, Scarecrow and Wychcraft at $2.89 per 1/2 liter bottle. All these beers are brewed in England at the Wychwood Brewery. We also have our shelves fully stocked with all of the great Fall beers.
We are expecting to receive 6-packs of Spaten Oktoberfest and Optimator late next week. We will announce it via e-newsletter when it arrives.
Don't forget about the Crescent Moon/ Huber Haus Huge Oktoberfest that will be held Sept.28 and 29 in the Parking Lot and along 36th street. Lots of Oktoberfest Beer, tons of German Food and Live music both days. A guaranteed good time. Stop by and check it out.
Hope to see you soon in Beertopia!

Man, I wish I could make that. I love the La Folie, so all of the different versions would be fun to try. It made me thirsty for Falling Rock come GABF time as well.
Nate,
Here is a funny one for you. I like to go to New Belgium with peeps that are not as into beer as I am. I tell them all to order La Folie and they do. Then when most of them don't like it because of the very sour flavor they often hand it over to me to drink. I usually end up with 3-4 taster glasses.
Peace out
Ha, that worked the last time I was their too. I didn't mean for it to happen but was happy when it did. lol
The tickets are sold out, according to their latest newsletter.
have fun
