On Friday, I was fortunate enough to be the first customer to enjoy a glass of NB's Abbey Grand Cru at Max & Joe's (Crescent Moon's Belgian bar/party room).
The beer is quite big at 9.5%, according to the NB representative that was on location Friday. It has a nice banana aroma and flavor to compliment the high alcohol content.
This is one of the Lips of Faith series of beers NB has been rolling out recently. These beers are available only on tap to limited accounts. The Crescent Moon is 1 of 2 accounts in Nebraska. I don't believe there are plans to bottle and distribute this series, however if it does well I hope they explore that option.
Stop on in to Max & Joe's Thu-Sat from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. to have a glass yourself.
