Empyrean News for Iowa and South Dakota

Here is some expansion news from Empyrean.

We are now available in Council Bluffs - the three Hy Vee locations there put us in week before last and Super Saver should be adding us soon. No draft just yet though we are working on Famous Dave's. All of our bottled brands except for LunaSea ESB are available - since LunaSea is over 6% we would have to go through Iowa's state controlled liquor wholesale process with that beer - maybe someday we'll be ready to tackle that project. No plans as of yet to expand into other parts of Iowa.

We will begin selling in Sioux Falls in January with all of our bottles and Third Stone and Dark Side on draft to start. We have good leads on Hy Vee with bottles and Old Chicago, Famous Dave's and Monks Café on draft.

I'm waiting for final word from the brewers but I believe we will have the Beer Quest Dobesh & Schweitzer Mexican Mocha Porter on cask along with a hopped up FestivAle for our January 5th Cask Night - what a great way to start 2009!

A scant 50 pounds of Mexican chocolate and 20 pounds of coffee are going into the Porter we'll brew on Friday - oh yeah and malt and hops for good measure!
