Great Nebraska Beer Fest - missed opportunity

Well, sadly for me I was unable to attend the first annual Great Nebraska Beer Fest in Papillion last week. I thought of every conceivable thing I could do to get there and felt it my duty to attend BUT family won out, as it should, and I took my boys camping for the last time this year. It was a great camping trip and I have no regrets. My loan regret would have been not having a review of the event out there for people to see, but UNO took care of that for me.

I have read some stuff on Nebraska Brewing Company's newsletters, facebook pages, etc. and it sounds like it went off with a resounding success and just some small hiccups. It also sounds like the crew is ready to do it again next year.

I only have one complaint, seeing as I couldn't make it I probably shouldn't have any but I do, please hold it on a Saturday next year. For us outside of Omaha it makes going to the event and trying to make it home hard. We could stay the night, but then we will miss work the next day and this could really stop people from attending. I believe the reason for the day was because of it's correlation with the Sarpy Arts festival. A small complaint and something I will remedy, if I have to, next year. I am speaking more for all the other Nebraskans/Iowans/Kansans out there that may want to attend the event as well.

Other than that, KUDOS Paul and crew! I know it was a lot of work but it appears you loved every minute of it and it appears that the attendees did too and that is what it is all about, having a great time and a great pint!

Saturday would have killed it for me since I work six days a week! If it had not been on Sunday I would have either had to forgo some income or miss the event, probably the later. It doesn't really matter what day you have an event it will be bad for somebody.

True, but I don't care about anyone else. LOL!

I'm with you on holding it on Saturday. Though it is my own fault for not paying attention, I'd assumed it was on Saturday and showed up from Lincoln, to no avail.
