Nebraska Brewing Company special bottle releases!

NBC looks to be releasing several different brews this year in bottles. That is fantastic news because their Chardonnay Blonde last year was fantastic!! Here is their post on the subject.

Based upon the success of our Chardonnay Blonde, we continue to broaden the list of offerings within the Reserve Series line.

Next Tuesday, we release our next limited quantity Ale in 750 ml form – Fathead.

Fathead Barley Wine – Release Date October 20th, 6 PM

A rich, full bodied Barley Wine with a wonderfully warming character from the malts & dark brown sugars. Held to the light, its burgundy color is fitting for a bigger beer that has aromatics that hint of the oak, the whiskey, the somewhat sweet nature, and molasses that makes this beer truly unique. The non-barrel-aged version of this beer took Silver in the 2009 US Open Beer Championships. Using Stranahan’s Whiskey barrels, we aged this beer for 6 months to impart a small amount of oak tannins and the whiskey character that combine to elevate this beer beyond its original entry into this world.

11.3% ABV. Excellent to enjoy now and cellerable for years. $19.99. 750 mL bottle

Black Betty Russian Imperial Stout – Release Date November 17th, 6 PM

Black as night and every bit Imperial, this RIS was originally launched to tremendous accolades. Going further, this Stranahan’s Whiskey barrel aged version meshes the rich chocolates, the coffee-like aromatics with the sweet whiskey nose and drying character of the oak. Slightly behind on the palette are the hops – held in restraint by the wonderfully full mouthfeel and broad flavors brought on by the perfect blend of so many malted barley varieties.

9.3% ABV. Ready to enjoy upon release and perfect for extended cellaring. $19.99. 750 mL bottle

In Oak or in the Fermenter:

Chardonnay French Oak Hop God & Chardonnay French Oak Blonde

The Chardonnay Blonde was the 3rd in the trio to take Silvers in their respective categories at the 2009 US Open Beer Championship.

Tentative release date for the Barrel Aged Hop God is late February – the Chardonnay Blonde is unscheduled at this time.

Hey Gang - we've changed our release for Black Betty to the 10th to coincide with Marine Corps Toys for Tots Kick-off. Had the beer in Vermillion 2 nights back and the bottle conditioning looks to be dead on - we're ready! Release tasting includes Hazelnut Chocolate Truffles for our pairing. See you there!
