New Beer (Crescent Moon and Beertopia)

From their email:

Crescent Moon

First, Bigfoot has been spotted! Well the Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine that is. This year marks the 25th release of Bigfoot. This award-winning barleywine boasts a dense, fruity bouquet, an intense flavor palate and a deep reddish-brown color. At 9.6% abv its big maltiness is superbly balanced by a wonderfully bittersweet hoppiness.

Second, Goose Island Bourbon County Stout has been tapped. This Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout is dark and dense with thick foam the color of a bourbon barrel. Served in an 8 oz snifter the nose is an intense mix of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and smoke. At 13% abv it is strong and the taste is big on bourbon, alcohol and roasted chocolate. One sip has a ton of flavor.

Third, Horizon Red Ale from Summit Brewing Co. in St. Paul, MN is back. They used a blend of Horizon, Amarillo, Cascades and Summit hops balanced by 2-Row Pale, Caramel, Cara-red, Wheat and Black Malts. It has 70 IBU’s and 5.7% ABV. This American Amber has a delicious citrus hop flavor.

Beertopia

Boulevard Brewing will release 2 new Smoke Stack beers on Friday.

-The first one is called Rye-on-Rye. As the name says, it is a rye ale lagered in Templeton Rye whiskey barrels. This is a big hitter at 11%. (YIKES!) Big aromas of toasty oak, whiskey, naturally accompanied by alcohol, sweet vanilla, and brown sugar.
-The next brew is called Dark Truth Stout. This is considered a Belgian inspired Imperial Stout. rich flavors of milk chocolate, tons of toasty chocolate malt, some dark chocolate bitterness (this is one chocolaty beer!).

-Next from our beer loving brethren at Nebraska Brewing Co. (NBC), is Chardonnay Barrel Aged HOP GOD! This is their rendition of a lip smacking good Belgian\American IPA. And yes it is a god to behold. At 9.2% ABV it is a doozy!

-From Carlow Brewing Co. is their Celtic Irish Stout called O’Hara’s. This is a fine example of an Irish Stout in at 4.3% ABV. This is a very limited release to Omaha and here just in time for our favorite beer swilling holiday. If you need ask then…..

-Avery has released their Collaboration not Litigation ale once again. This a Belgian dark strong ale at a robust 9% ABV. If you all have not tried this before, I do recommend it highly. Vinnie Cilurzo of Russian River Brewing and Adam Avery of Avery Brewing came together to make one good brew. Tastes of caramelized malts, hint of Belgian candy sugar, banana, bread/cereal yeast, bit of nutmeg and a little bit of pepper.

-Unibroue has finally re-released their excellent cherry infused beer called Quelque Chose. This beer can be drank and enjoyed in several ways. The obvious come to mind and that would be to pour into a glass…second is on the rocks, yes on the rocks. Then after those 2 ways have been accomplished try it slightly warmed from a pot (do not get over 160 degrees as alcohol turns to a gassy form easily). Give the warm one a try and tell me you don’t like it!
