This Friday will be a fun celebration for one great homebrewer Aaron Carnes and Empyrean Brewing Co. A few times a year, the guys at Empyrean host an event called Beer Quest, where 21 homebrewers set off to create an award winning beer. The entrants are narrowed down to 10 brewers by a panel of accredited beer judges, and then later served to the public for yet another round of voting to crown the ultimate winner. The prize? The winner gets to recreate their winning beer with Empyrean Head Brewer Rich Chapin on the big 15 barrel system. Bricktop is very lucky to get our hands on a keg of the newest champion's creation 'RyePA' (Rye India Pale Ale), Aaron's delicious combination of citrusy West Coast hops and spicy rye malt.
