Monks' ESB Cask @ Bricktop Friday

This Friday at Bricktop is sure to be a blast with a very special dry-hopped cask conditioned beer from our friends up the street. Before the Modern Monks became pro-brewers, they were award winning homebrewers. One of their proudest creations was an ESB formulated on Brother Bob's old 3 barrel system. Long story short, it rocked, and they won Best of Show at the Nebraska State Fair with the original batch. Now that they have found their new home over at the Misty's brewery, the time has come to put the winning recipe back to work. As Brother Dave describes, "It's a nice easy drinking session beer with an emphasis on the malt flavors. We use a bit of aromatic to give some depth to the flavor. The dry hopping showcases the fresh English hops (E.K. Goldings)."
The Monks will be bringing along their Beer Engine to serve this delicious Real Ale treat. This is a one night event, so do not miss your chance. Come support the Monks, and have a pint or three with Brother Bob, Brother Dave and Brother Josh.
*Cask ale or cask-conditioned beer is the term for unfiltered and unpasteurized beer which is conditioned (including secondary fermentation) and served from a cask without additional nitrogen or carbon dioxide pressure.*
*A beer engine is a device for pumping beer, originally manually operated and typically used to dispense beer from a cask or container in a pub's basement or cellar. It was invented by the locksmith and hydraulic engineer Joseph Bramah in 1797.*
We excited to offer back-to-back cask nights, next weeks offering will come from our other buddies up the road at Empyrean on October 22nd. They have created a one of a kind cask of Raspberry Vanilla Porter, you will not want to miss it.
