NBC 'Nebraskadian Black Ale' Tapping Party @ Derailleur Tap Room

This Friday the Derailleur Tap Room will be featuring another fun one from Nebraska Brewing Co. They have decided to jump into the ring to throw down on a beer style that has seen much heated debate as of late. A dark as night ale with only light roast character which is heavily hopped like an IPA. This has also quickly become the "in" style to brew across the country. In fact, as Headbrewer Tyson Arp noted in the comments section to a recent Nebraskabeerblog post, they almost named it "Bandwagon Black".

Why all the fuss? This one is loaded with gripes from all over the beer industry. Who made it first? Was it the Easctcoast or the Westcoast or the UK? What is the proper name? Is it Black IPA (India PALE Ale)? Could it be IBA (India Black Ale)? Or is it a CDA (Cascadian Dark Ale, named after the Cascades in the Pacific Northwest)?... End of the day, it's a delicious beer, and a welcome style. Leave it to the NBC guys to cleverly name it too. 'Nebraskadian Black Ale' will be tapped at 4pm sharp.

Cheers!
