My parents brought in their Nebraska Life magazine today to show me that there was an article on breweries and craft beer. I am somewhat skeptical when non-beer geeks bring me items to look at because, not to be snobish, I have probably seen it or heard it already. It should stop being surprising to me that I don't hear and see everything in the beer world but it is true. :-)
So, instead of working first thing this morning I read the article written by Matthew Spencer in the magazine, here is a web only excerpt. It manages to hit on most of the breweries in the state, interviewing most of the brewers. It has a great run down of the brewing history in Omaha, even with a nod to the fact that Fred Astaire worked at one of the breweries when he was younger.
It is a very good article and a good show piece for Nebraskans. Nebraska Life is a wonderful magazine and something I enjoy reading and opens my mind up to what is out there in our great state. This will open those breweries up to new audiences that love to travel based on what they find in this magazine.
