I will write a recap of the nights events that are important but unfortunately the event was cut a little short because of some poor behavior on 3-4 individuals and then even poorer management by the facility and the security that was on hand. Believe me, I talked to the managers and owners of the Crescent Moon and they were livid, they had no input on the decision to shut down early so please don't pin this on them. Here is a note from Beertopia manager Aaron Bush.
Bottomline a few guys ruined it for everyone and they should be ashamed of themselves and I am not JUST talking about those that can't handle their alcohol. This festival has went on for several years with no issues and many festivals if not all have went on for years with out issues like this and this one will most definitely continue on for years with out further problems. I know the management is very sorry for the event being cut short. This will not be an issue again. We would like thank all of you for being a part of the biggest fest we have had. We also understand your frustration for the activities that shut the fest down early. Please excuse us for that party foul. We REALLY hope this does not deter you from hanging out with us in the future fests. We learn alot from these fests as they grow bigger and bolder each year. We HAVE learned from this and will take action for future endeavors.
We also want to thank all of our vendors and brewery reps that showed and poured! This is what makes our festivals the best in the Midwest!! As you know, our festivals only get better with age!!
Thanks,
Aaron Bush
I will post some pics of the event and some quick notes of the event later when I get the pics off my camera but it was great and the beer was great and the people were great. Thanks for coming out and buying a lot of swag from us, it helped a ton and you should start seeing the benefits. Also, thanks for letting us know how much you like to read our blog as well as what you think we need more of, it was all heard and will be taking to heart.

It sure was a sad/strange/distressing way to end such a great event. Thanks for this post; I knew not to blame Aaron or Bill or anyone at Crescent Moon, and at the same time, I can understand why the police would want to shut down early after what those three idiots did. So although it was upsetting to have the event cut short, it was a great event with fantastic beer and I look forward to next year's fest.
I had a lot of fun at Extreme Beerfest and didn't see any of the idiotic behavior that got it shut down early. The only thing I fear is if these selfish assholes don't deter other places from hosting next year. Lots of great beer, with some great highlights I am still sorting through!
