Tickets are now for sale for the Inaugural OMAHA BEER FEST
OMAHA, NE April 1, 2011 – Tickets are now available for what is expected to be the largest craft beer festival in Nebraska. The inaugural Omaha Beer Fest takes place Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21, during American Craft Beer Week at the Lewis and Clark Landing.
Over 100 unique craft beers will be available for tasting from 25 breweries, including Goose Island Beer Co (Chicago), Odell Brewing Co (Fort Collins, CO) and Boulevard Brewing Co (Kansas City). Brewers and representatives from the breweries will be on hand to sample their crafts and meet their fans. "American Craft Beer Week is a celebration of the creativity and passion of small brewers nationwide," said John McDonald, founder and president of Boulevard Brewing Company. "It's markets like Omaha, who embraced our beers early and have remained outstanding supporters of the craft beer movement, that make it possible for our industry to create an estimated 100,000 jobs annually."
Seminars and beer and food pairings will be offered throughout the two day event at the on-site Beer Academy. Classes include Extreme Beer & Cheese Pairing (Goose Island Beer Co), Cask-Conditioned Ale Tapping (Empyrean Brewing Co), and Barrel Aged Beer & Spirits (Lucky Bucket Brewing Co).
Attendance supports Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, the official festival beneficiary.
Other festival sponsors include Omaha Magazine, DocuLynx, Inc., JM Web Designs, Liberty Tavern, expedoodle, and Nebraska Beer Blog. Beers sampled at the festival will be available for sale on-site at the festival through Spirit World. Live entertainment and local food vendors will also be on-site.
Tickets are now available for sale online at www.omahabeerfest.com and at Spirit World, 7517 Pacific St. in Omaha.
Omaha Beer Fest is produced by Urban Events, Inc. Urban Events also produces the annual Riverfront Wine Festival and will introduce Omaha Restaurant Week later this year.
