LOUISVILLE, Colo., June 29, 2011 – Old Chicago –the made-from-scratch American fare and beer authority known for its World Beer Tour ™ and 110 unique, cold beers – is launching the America’s Beer Mini Tour with kick-off parties nationwide on Wednesday, June 29, as a tribute to life, liberty and the pursuit of beer. The America’s Beer Mini Tour – a brand-new Tour for Old Chicago’s more than 1 million World Beer Tour members – will run through Sunday, July 17, and feature eight beers from iconic American breweries that have impacted America’s beer industry, as well as American-style beers made exclusively for the occasion, including Old Chicago American Red.
Old Chicago’s America’s Beer Mini Tour celebrations begin on Wednesday, June 29, with tapping parties at each of the restaurant chain’s 97 locations nationwide. Each Old Chicago location will feature Miller High Life in the Tour as part of High Life’s “Give a Veteran a Piece of the High Life” program which provides unique experiences (like baseball games and concerts) and cash donations to returning Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). For every keg of Miller High Life sold at Old Chicago during the Tour, Miller High Life will donate $10 toward “High Life” experiences allowing Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families the opportunity to connect with each other once they have returned home, helping to build strong and lasting communities.
In addition to Miller High Life, restaurants will feature seven other beers on the Tour, including Sam Adams Boston Lager, Rogue American Amber, Budweiser Lager, Woodchuck Amber Cider and restaurant beer choices that vary by location, such as Boulder Beer Kinda Blue and Pabst Blue Ribbon. The Tour also will offer exclusive beers that vary by location – in addition to the Old Chicago American Red Ale – including the Empyrean Brewing Co. Slow Your Roll.
“Our loyal guests and World Beer Tour members come to Old Chicago to taste great beers and participate in exciting Mini Tours, and the new America’s Beer Mini Tour is a chance for guests to celebrate the American brewing industry,” said Mark Newman, director of beverage for Old Chicago. “This Tour is special because we’re partnering with Miller High Life to give back to our veterans, and we’re excited for our guests across the country and those new to Old Chicago to help support and thank them for all their sacrifices through this Mini Beer Tour.”
Old Chicago’s World Beer Tour members who complete the America’s Beer Mini Tour by sampling all eight beers will receive the highly coveted Mini Tour T-shirt with a specially designed patriotic graphic on the front. Anyone 21 and older can sign up to become a World Beer Tour member at Old Chicago for free and register online for members-only benefits. Old Chicago encourages guests to drink responsibly.
