New Beers on Tap at The Libray

The Library Pub just announced some new beers they have put on tap.
The new taps this week are made for autumn drinking.Pere Jacques is from the Vintage Ales lineup of Goose Island. Just tried this last night and I am a HUGE fan. It is a classic Belgian dubbel, albeit a tad sweeter than some. Malt, caramel, and graham cracker dominate the palate. It hides the 8% ABV well. Perhaps too well - be careful! B+ on Beeradvocate. With October arriving, Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale is a great choice for the season. Another solid beer, rating B+ on Beeradvocate, is also a favorite of Bob, one of the friendly bartenders at the Library Pub. While not as over-the-top as some pumpkin ales, you still get all the spices - nutmeg, clove, cinnamon - that remind you of pumpkin pie, with just a bit of alcohol bite from the 8% ABV.One more, and this one is intriguing: Upstream Farmhouse IPA. You read that right...farmhouse IPA. It was enough to catch our interest. We tried it and it is definitely an IPA. There are traces of farmhouse - dry, slightly spiced - but the hops pretty much dominate the palate. Plenty of aromatics and bittering should please the hop-heads.

Ok, now I'm thirsty!
