Collaboration Release Recap (Gottberg)
Last Friday was a fine day, capped off by an even finer evening at the Gottberg brewpub. I really enjoyed talking with the people that are some Jeremy’s best customers. Everyone at the party felt comfortable together, which led to some great conversation.
My favorite of the night was the IPA. Our late hop additions, including the generous dry-hopping, helped to make this a very drinkable beer. Something that you can have several of without exhausting your palate. My hope is Jeremy will be able to get this beer into the Omaha market and other places around the state soon.
Thanks to Gottberg and Jeremy for allowing us to brew some sweet, sweet happiness together.
Check out photos of the event on our Facebook page.

Thanks for coming out the help brew and then to help enjoy a great couple of beers!
Cheers!
I wish I could have made it out to taste the beers. Keep us in the loop if we get a chance to try this anywhere in the Omaha area.
Tyson,
Dream on, buddy, and on...and on...and on...For whatever reason I doubt this will ever happen! It seems that NEBRASKA beer is never or ever distributed IN our fine state but somehow gets distributed EAST and WEST, NORTH and SOUTH liberally...yeah, my peeps in Brooklyn, NY get to go to their local liquor store and buy NBC every brew they make! everyday of the week and me, I can't even get one at a local bar or even one single at a local liquor store...not even in OMAHA! boooo! Can we change this?! I sure hope so...we, you would think would be their best audience and consumer!!! I have regalled, and requested galore!!! to no response. Really! Amazing isn't it??!! take it easy bro...drink good beer! Right now TALLGRASS is my beer of choice ALE or Buffal SWEAT~CLEAR from MANHATTAN, KS...bless their hearts!:) CARLA
Tyson,
If you are the *Tyson* from NBC~then booooo to you personally for being part of the poor distribution problem of your great beer right here in NE!! TALLGRASS Buffalo Sweat is what I meant to say was my best beer choice at the moment clear from Manhattan, KS!!!!!!!!!
Of course I'd drink several different NBC beers but I just cannot get them. For shame!
I commented on another post Carla but I will add it hear. NBC is at max capacity and they only bottle small lots currently. They distribute them here as well as other places. This is good marketing and will help them grow so they can bottle/can for further growth in our state and beyond. I understand your concerns but understand the logistics of what you are asking, they physically cannot produce more beer in their place. They would love to get out there to more people and are making the steps to do so. Patience, I bet you will be rewarded. Keep asking for their beer at pubs and restaurants.
Carla, I hardly think that Tyson or even Nebraska Brewing are really part of the problem. The issues with distribution are far more complex than a brewery not wanting to sell somewhere. Also, don't forget that NBC is firstly a brewpub, not a packaging brewery, so really, any distribution outside of the pub is a bonus! :)
Carla,
I very much appreciate your enthusiasm for local beer! We could use more people like you around here. I hope that you help spread this zeal in our local market.
While much of what we do out of state is perhaps higher profile, truth be told, this year around 70% of our beer will be sold right here in Nebraska. It's no secret that the Nebraska beer scene is still maturing--we as a state are well behind the national curve for craft beer purchases and probably even worse when you look at the purchases of local beers. This will change with time as consumers and retailers wake up to the reality that is the craft beer movement and I certainly feel that we are doing our part to help promote this. Diverting what has been excess capacity to more mature markets has allowed us to stay innovative and continue our mission of brewing World Class Beers for Nebraska.
Though we've been fortunate to make quite a splash on the beer scene, as Nate pointed out we are still quite small. Most of the beers we produce are draft only and contrary to your slight exaggeration are available at many bars and restaurants in Omaha, Lincoln and beyond. If you're not seeing the beers you want where you eat, drink, or shop, please ask for it from the owners of those places. Good craft beer is driven by grass roots and consumer demand so you need to speak up where it counts. We can tell retailers all day how awesome we think we are but you're the customer and it means a lot more for them to hear it from you.
Again, I'm inspired by your passion and hope that you can help us grow our local beer scene. We certainly sense the tides changing and I think you can expect great things in the future from Nebraska Brewing and our fellow local brewers!
