Blue Blood Grand Opening

The Blog could not make it last night to the Grand Opening but thankfully we had someone that could and gave a report for us.  If you would like to be a guest blogger sometime just drop us an email and let us know.  We can't be every where all the time and this is a great way to get the news out.  Thanks Paris for doing this!!

Blue Blood Brewing Company's open house on 12/7 drew a large crowd including local brewers Rich Chapin and Brendan McGinn from Empyrean, Tyson Arp and Sam Riggins from NBC along with owner Paul Kavulak, Social Media and Special Events Coordinator Angela Zikas Arp and Richard Stueven (brewer at large).  We were greeted by Amanda Podwinski, Brian's wife.  Brian and Jason Goodwin are the co-founders. They handed us our first taste of the ESB after we signed in.

They have two beers on right now, 1327 Pod's ESB and 834 Happy as Ale.  They are using Rhynalds hops in each of these beers.

Blue Blood is in a very large warehouse with lots of room for growth, they have a 15 Barrel system from Newlands with 4 fermenters, their bottleneck right now is that they only have one bright tank, so they already want to purchase more tanks.

Brian is hoping that the cans will arrive before the end of the year. They are planning on doing a Porter sometime soon.

They have a nice variety of T-shirts and hats, coozies, pint glasses and bottle openers available for purchase.  My favorite T-shirt has a picture of the cans on the back with the slogan Yes We Can.  You should be able to purchase on the website sometime soon.

I really enjoyed the ESB and found it a true palate pleaser.  Don't miss the tapping tonight at Jake's in both Lincoln and Omaha.  Brian will also be at Crescent Moon on Tuesday! They have many events planned for this month, and will have their beers in lots of local bars so keep checking their Facebook page and their website for updates.  Congratulations and best of luck!!
