Jake's Friday Tapping Parties/Lincoln: A Month of Beigian Christmas Ales/Omaha:‏ Boulder Killer Penguin Barleywine

LINCOLN JAKE'S: This Friday (12/2) we will be doing something a little different, and kicking off a progressive Belgian Christmas tapping party that will last through the rest of the year. We were lucky enough to get our hands on several delicious and rare Christmas beers from Belgium, and we will be tapping them one after another. Once a keg is gone, we will be right on to the next one on the list, so be sure to check in often throughout the month, you will not want to miss any of these.

Keg 1: Silly Noël (Brasserie de Silly- Silly, Belgium) A Belgian Tripel with notes of peach and orange with a subtle spicy character. 9% ABV

Keg 2: Santa Bee (Brouwerij Boelens- Belsele, Belgium) A Belgian Strong Ale with notes of strawberry and cherry with a slight tartness. 8.7% ABV

Keg 3: Christmas Leroy (Bierbrouwerij Leroy- Boezinge, Belgium) A dark Christmas beer in the Scotch Ale style. Deep berry and caramel flavor. 7.5% ABV

Keg 4: Noël de Silenrieux (Brasserie De Silenrieux- Silenrieux, Belgium) A Belgian Strong Ale with notes of dried orchard fruits, candi sugar and molasses. 9.0 % ABV

OMAHA JAKES: (12/2) The weather is perfect for a belly warming Barleywine. This Friday will be the tapping of Killer Penguin from Boulder Beer Company in Colorado.

Brewery description "Traditional winter seasonals are warm and comforting - not this Penguin. Diving in at around 10 percent alcohol by volume, Killer Penguin uses over twice the malt as other winter beers, and is aged for over 6 months to perfect the condition and flavor of this barleywine style ale. This beer doesn't ferment, it hibernates, and wakes up with an attitude."

Tapping time:
5:30 pm Jake's Omaha (62nd & Maple)
