Jake's Friday Tapping Parties / Lincoln: Boulevard Rye on Rye / Omaha: Modern Monks Blackbeard Chocolate stout

Friday (3/16) tapping parties for the Lincoln & Omaha Jake's

LINCOLN JAKE'S: Oh yeah baby, Friday we will be tapping an absolutely amazing beer from Boulevard's Smokestack Series "Special Limited Release Ale" called Rye on Rye. An absolutely luscious amber strong ale bursting with spicy rye notes, oak, and whiskey character. A must try for sure, and we are very excited to be able to offer this one on draft.

Brewery description: "Why Rye? This assertively flavorful grain is more often associated with whiskey than with ales. Even in that arena, it has largely been eclipsed by corn and barley, the sources of bourbon and scotch. But when we procured some seasoned barrels from our friends at Templeton Rye, we asked ourselves, “Why not?” Why not brew a rich, tawny rye ale, then mellow it in the warmth of charred oak rye whiskey casks? Two kinds of malted rye provide spicy sweetness, giving way to notes of caramelized wood and the citrusy tang of Perle, Magnum, and Saphir hops before easing into a dry, lingering finish."

Ratebeer: 99/100

5:00 pm Jake's Lincoln (14th & P St.)

OMAHA JAKE'S: This Friday, the Omaha Jake's will get it's turn with Modern Monks 'Black Beard' Chocolate Oatmeal Stout. Now a regular seasonal from their "Wandering Monk" Guest Brewer Series, it was brewed with one of Lincoln homebrewer Jason McLaughlin's favorite recipes. Made with tons of raw Fair Trade Organic Cacao Nibs, Bourbon-Madagascar Vanilla Beans, as well as toasted oats to create a rich chocolate character with light sweetness and a great mouthfeel.

5:30 pm Jake's Omaha (62nd & Maple)
