Jake's Friday Tapping Parties: Lincoln- Empyrean Limited West Coast IPA / Omaha‏- Odell Friek

Friday (7/27) tapping parties for the Lincoln & Omaha Jake's

LINCOLN JAKE'S: Be ready for a fantastic West Coast-style IPA created by Empyrean.  Many know Brendan McGinn has been doing some great things with hops lately at Empyrean, including his involvement in the creation of their new year-round production "Watchman IPA".  This Friday we will be tapping a very limited run of "Empyrean West Coast IPA", a classic take on the style with a simple malt bill and complex hopping.  This is our only shot at serving this beer, so do not miss it.  Get down to say hi to Brendan and the Empyrean team!

Brewery description: "Mild sweetness up-front with a big, bitter hop bitterness running down the middle and punch of grapefruit and pine in the dry finish. Paler in color than the Watchman and Beer Quest IPA – no caramel character in the flavor as in those beers."

5:00 pm Jake's Lincoln (14th & P St.)

OMAHA JAKE'S: Don't miss the final night (and grand finale) of the '12 Days of Odell' event!  We will be tapping an all time favorite, and most amazing sour ale, "Friek".  This delicious barrel aged treat is somewhat of a half Framboise and half Kriek, and all the way awesome.

"FRIEK is an evolution, an imaginative amalgamation invented by our brewers. Multiple KRIEK Lambic style ales are fermented with WILD yeast and TART cherries and then moved into OAK BARRELS to age and sour taking on the CHERRY flavors. As the beer matures, FRAMBOISES (raspberries) from Schroyer Family Farms in Fort Collins are handpicked and readied for the beer. The fresh RASPBERRIES are added immediately prior to the final blending. The sweet and tart flavors MINGLE on the tongue with a sparkling dry finish."

5:30 Jake's Omaha (62nd & Maple)
