Modern Monks Fun(ky) Tapping Party Monday, August 13th @ Downtown Misty's

There are two fun(ky) Modern Monks beers being tapped at Misty's downtown this coming Monday (8/13) that you do not want to miss!

First off they are throwing on their "Sexy Sour".  With this one they filled a freshly emptied oak barrel that had just finished holding last years Wild Tripel, so that they could further ferment the ale with the wonderful blend of bugs.  Next they added local honey to get all the bugs excited again, along with a healthy dose of caramelized cacao nibs.  Lastly they added oak staves made from Glacial Till red wine barrels for some nice subtle tannins.  The finished product is wonderful tart and sublime.

The second beer is "Wild Tripel", another special treat that has seen some nice age since it was originally tapped last October.  A true Wild Ale, this Belgian-style Tripel has a spicy black pepper aroma that carries into the flavor, with a chardonnay characteristic and finishing lightly tart and malty. This beer was spontaneously fermented in an oak barrel which lends to the funky character and its name. 8% ABV

200 North 11th Street, Lincoln, NE
