**New Lincoln Craft Beer Bar** The Cask - Fermentations and Cocktails

There is a lot of great beer news coming out of Lincoln lately, and a new craft beer bar can be added to the list.  The Cask - Fermentations and Cocktails is located in the Historical Haymarket district at 728 Q Street (above the N-Zone).

Co-owner Jeremy Schafer recently opened the location with intention of adding a nice craft beer and cocktail bar to the fast growing Haymarket area.  Open Monday through Saturday from 4pm - close, you can find a handpicked craft beer selection that includes 4 draft options and over 40 bottles.

Beer related events at The Cask include:

Tuesday Flight Nights- With special discounts on the nights featured beers, there will be an emphasis on education.  If you are unlucky enough to have friends that are not into craft beer (yet), Tuesday's also feature selected wine and spirit flights as well.

1st & 3rd Thursday Cask Nights- A special cask of real ale will be poured through the beer engine, and served throughout the week until it's gone.

2nd & 4th Thursday Tapping Parties- A special draft tapping of a new and often hard to find beer, also served throughout the week until gone.

Every Weekday Happy Hour- Pub snacks and drink specials offered from 4pm to 7pm.

Congrats and good luck to Jeremy and everyone at The Cask!

Only 4 taps? Seems like a waste of space. So many good craft beers to choose from and to have only 4 taps is ridiculous.I understand they could have many decent selections via bottle but 4 is a little light.

Spuyten Duyvil is one of the best beer bars I have been to in the country, and they have a whopping 6 taps. The quality of a beer bar is not directly dependent on the number of taps they can squeeze in.

I heard they are looking to expand the selection but they are limited on space. They place only seats 40 and no cooler space. An expansion is possibility. How many bars have many taps but horrible selection? (Brix and Stone is a great example of that and is a block away) I recommend checking this place out. Great atmosphere. I know they have an Empyrean Cherry Chocolate Dark Side cask tapping on Thursday Dec 13th. Lincoln needs more bars dedicated to craft beer. Jake's Lincoln is great but too smokey.

Dave D, what time will they tap the Dark Side tonight?

Ryan, I would guess that it will be tapped when they open at 4:00 PM.

You can follow them on Facebook and Twitter @TheCask_Lnk
