Omaha Beer Week Schedule


We have generally let Omaha Beer Week tell you what is going on and will continue to tell you to check out their website and facebook page for details but I thought I would post up the schedule from the Omaha World Herald article that was published today.  I know Nick, Travis and myself will be facebooking and tweeting from events around the city so be sure to keep an eye out.  This week looks fantastic, have fun and be safe!

HUBER-HAUS (Crescent Moon), 36th & Farnam Streets, 1 p.m. Craft beer swap. Each person must sign up in advance and bring 12, 12-ounce craft beers to “swap” in order to participate. KRUG PARK, 7 p.m. Rare beers on tap from Goose Island Beer Company: Bourbon County Imperial Stout, Big John Imperial Stout w/cocoa nibs, Imperial IPA, and Naughty Goose Brown Ale. Adam Desler (local representative) will be on hand as well. Rare and cellared beers from Goose Island will be available for sale.

MAX & JOE'S, 36th & Farnam Streets, 7 p.m. Max & Joe's will be hosting a Craft Beer potluck dinner. Each participant must prepare a dish that has been made with craft beer to share with the group. Participants must sign up in advance by emailing Kandace.g@beercornerusa.com. Space is limited and participants must sign up to bring an appetizer, side, main course or dessert. Your entrance fee to the event is your craft beer dish.

KRUG PARK, 4 p.m. Kegs of Wasatch Devastator Dopplebock, Wasatch Ghost Rider White IPA, and Squatters Hop Rising Double IPA. Brewery representatives available to answer questions. First 25 people to order one will get a souvenir pint glass.
CRESCENT MOON, 4 p.m. Marcus Powers, the Head Brewer at Lincoln brewery Zipline Brewing Co. Marcus will be on hand from 6-8 p.m. for our Pint Night to share with you three of his beers: the Copper Alt, Oatmeal Porter and NZ IPA. Purchase your first Zipline beer for $6 and the special glass featuring both the Zipline and the Crescent Moon logo is yours to keep. Refills are just $2.50 all night.
NEBRASKA BREWING COMPANY, 5 p.m. Barley's Angels of Nebraska & Nebraska Brewing Company will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Flower Fusion to Beer for Boobs.
SPIRIT WORLD, 5 p.m. Sample beers from C.I.B. Brewery in Carson, Iowa. C.I.B. is a farmhouse style brewery, producing only beers made using proprietary yeast blends. Free event.
MOJO SMOKEHOUSE & ALES, 5 p.m. In conjunction with Lucky Bucket Brewing Co., presenting a 15-person dinner featuring courses prepared with Lucky Bucket brews and paired with their beers. HUBER-HAUS, 36TH & FARNAM STREETS, 7 p.m. Craft Beer Trivia. This is a team event (no more than 4 people per team). Free event open only to the first 14 teams. JAKE'S CIGARS & SPIRITS, 7 p.m. Barley wines on tap, including: 2011 Great Divide Old Ruffian, 2011 Bigfoot, 2012 Lucky Bucket Barley Wine Plus a very special offering. A vertical tasting of Barley Wine from Anchor and Sierra Nevada going all the way back to 2008. (a 'vertical' tasting is a sampling of the same beer from each year it was brewed)

Wednesday
KRUG PARK, 4 p.m. Tapping beers from Tallgrass Brewing Company out of Manhattan, Kan.: Gravity Fed Beer, their IPA infused with Strawberry and Vanilla Bean; Buffalo Sweat with Vanilla Bean and a sneak peak at Ethos IPA. Brewers and reps will be available from 4-7 p.m. to answer questions and hand out merchandise.
MAX & JOE'S, 36TH & FARNAM STREETS, 5 p.m. Pete Larsen from Global Beers will be available to chat about Belgium, Belgian beer, and the breweries he helps bring to Nebraska. Special tapping TBA. Belgian Beer Society Members get 20 percent off any of Max & Joe's 15 taps that they drink. Door prize drawings for members at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.
SPIRIT WORLD, 6 p.m. A four-course beer pairing dinner, where we'll expertly pair our chef's delicious fare with an assortment of beers. Tickets are $40 per person, RSVP is required. To reserve your spot or for more information, call 402-391-8680.
BEERCADE, 6 p.m. We'll be tapping the Wasatch Ghostrider White IPA, Squatters Full-Suspension Pale Ale and more. Master-Brewer Adam Curfew of Wasatch / Squatters will be joining us via Skype for a Q&A.
DUNDEE DELL, 6 p.m. Celebrating all beer New Belgium style. Ron Nelson from New Belgium Brewery is bringing a surprise to enjoy on tap for one night only. Mary is cooking up some awesome specials to accompany your favorite New Belgium brew. Keep your own New Belgium tulip glass with the purchase of your first beer. Finally, a raffle to win a New Belgium prize and gift certificates.
BLATT BEER & TABLE, 6 p.m. Meet Mike Cunningham, head brewer of Lucky Bucket as he brings out the raw ingredients that go into the Lucky Bucket India Pale Ale and their limited edition Chava rum barrel aged Certified Evil. We will sample the beers as Mike explains how the ingredients play a role on their final flavor.
CRESCENT MOON, 7 p.m. First American Craft Beer Canwood Derby. There will be two racing divisions; 12-ounce and 16-ounce cars must be built out of American craft beer cans, no domestic/imports. If you use a Tallgrass or Thunderhead beer can to build your derby car you'll receive your first Tallgrass or Thunderhead beer free. Prizes will be awarded.
NEBRASKA BREWING COMPANY, 7 p.m. Beer-centric team trivia free for the teams to play, and there is no limit to team size, no cost to play and there will be special beer prizes to win.

BEERTOPIA, 4 p.m. Tallgrass sampling with brewery representative Kelly Lohrmeyer. Beers from Tallgrass include Vanilla Bean Buffalo Sweat and Velvet Rooster. Kelly will be on hand to answer any questions.
SPIRIT WORLD, 4 p.m. Sample Funkwerks beers. We will be pouring Saison, Tropic King, and Dark Prophet. Co-founder Brad Lincoln will be on hand for you to meet as well All three beers will be available for purchase.

LUCKY BUCKET BREWING CO., 7 p.m. Teamed up with Ted & Wally's for a homemade ice cream & beer pairing. CRESCENT MOON, 4 p.m. Funkwerks Co-Founder Brad Lincoln will be here from 4-6:30pm to talk about the brewery, beers and answer any questions. We will have bomber bottles of Saison, Tropic King and Dark Prophet available starting at 4pm.
KRUG PARK, 4 p.m. Nate Levi (brewery representative) and Adam Desler (local representative) will be on hand for this takeover event. We will tap the following: Green Bullet Triple IPA, Grand Cru, Extra Pale Ale, West Coast IPA, Double Stout, and Hop Head Red and more.
OLD CHICAGO, 4 p.m. Summit Saga Event. We will be featuring this new beer from Summit. Come and meet Rick from Summit Brewery.
BEERTOPIA, 4 p.m. North Coast sampling with brewery representative Bob Swatzell. Craft beers featured include: Old #38 and ACME IPA. Bob will be on hand to answer any questions.
JAKE'S CIGARS & SPIRITS, 7 p.m. The Odell guys are taking over. Beers on tap include: Odell IPA, Odell Red, Deconstruction Golden Ale, Guava IPA, John Baise Session Ale, Dry Hopped 90, Pale Mule, Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout and 90 Shilling.
RAMADA INN PLAZA, 72ND & GROVER STREETS, 7 p.m. Fourth Annual Extreme Beerfest Beer Dinner hosted by New Belgium Brewing Co. of Ft. Collins, Colo. Each course will be paired with a beer hand selected by New Belgium Sensory Specialist, Lauren Salazar. Tickets to this four course dinner are on sale in Beertopia 402-905-2603 & online at etix.com. You'll receive a program, tasting glass & four hours of sampling. We'll have samples from local vendors such as bread from Rotella's & beer ice cream from Ted & Wally's & Lagunitas. OLD CHICAGO-OAKVIEW, 1 p.m. Try a variety of beers from Boulevard Brewing. We will be featuring 'flights' of beers from Boulevard. A flight consists of 4-ounce pours of four different beers. If you drink a flight you get a prize from Boulevard.
GATOR O'MALLEY'S, 8 p.m.All craft beers in the house will be discounted in conjunction with our Rockabilly Night. Free cover and a special appearance from the Hot Tail Honeys.
KRUG PARK, 11 p.m. Omaha Beer Week recovery starts at noon at Krug Park. We will have three new Beer Bloody Mary's and Michelada's to choose from including Billy's Chillies Chili Beer Bloody Mary, Oatmeal Stout Bloody Mary, and Michelada's with your beer choice.
