From Jake's Cigars & Spirits:
Friday (4/26) tapping parties for the Lincoln & Omaha Jake's
LINCOLN JAKE'S: We have a special treat in store with the tapping of Empyrean's newest in the Carpe Brewem series. Black Tripel is a dark take on the Tripel-style ale, and the brainchild of Empyrean brewer Brendan McGinn.
Brewery description: "A brew that challenges your senses and expectations; the Black Tripel looks like a stout but has little in common. Fruit aromas are highlighted by delicate citrus, this big brew’s body is lightened by the addition of sugar in the brew kettle, in the tradition of the Belgian monks, which increases both the alcohol content and drinkablity. We finish the Tripel with just enough hop bitterness to help balance the rich pilsner malt backbone and ferment it with our own blend of Belgian Trappist yeast to satisfy nearly any monk."
15o OG, 60 IBU, 6% ABV
Malts = 2-Row, Roasted, Caramunich, Midnight Wheat, Carafa III
Hops = Galena (bitterness), Simcoe (flavor), Cascade (aroma)
5:00 pm Jake's Lincoln (14th & P St.)
OMAHA JAKE'S: If you love the hoppy fruitiness of a fresh Imperial IPA, the addition of fresh fruit can catapult the flavors to another level. Odell went nuts adding fresh Colorado peach puree to their new Tree Shaker Imperial IPA, and that is a very good thing.
Brewery description: "Colorado…we really love your peaches, wanna shake your tree! Tree Shaker Imperial IPA was brewed with 3,000 pounds of pureed Colorado peaches. The bright citrus hop character and subtle fruity sweetness will get your feet tapping and your taste buds dancing."
5:00 Jake's Omaha (62nd & Maple)
