It's that time of year. Oktoberfest time! Obviously, there are several celebrations happening throughout the state and rather than making a post for every single one, we're going to list all of the ones we know of in one post. With the popularity of Oktoberfest's in the area this year, we've heard about waiting in a lot of lines & we've got a few ideas that we think will go a long way in an effort to avoid lines as much as possible.
1) Purchase your beer/food tickets early (starting Thursday October 1st)2) Saturday ticket purchases will be managed by a dedicated person. 2) Outside beer pouring area, as well as beers in the taproom.

Again this year, we have custom logoed ½ liter mugs for only $5
If you bought a ½ liter or liter mug in past years you may bring it back to use so you don't have to buy a mug again this year.
If you have a favorite mug you want to bring that does not have a fill line on it, you can still bring it, we will just pour your bier in a plastic cup and you can transfer it into your decorative stein.
Like wise, we are no longer going to fill mugs half way. It's too hard to know where the half measure actually is and don't want to over charge someone.

Contests will be held on Saturday, September 27th.Signup sheets will be at the shot stand.
We ask that all competitors arrive under the tent (by the band) 5-10 minutes prior to the competition start time. A prize will be awarded to first place.

Brickway will be hosting its 2nd annual Oktoberfest on Saturday Sept. 12th starting at noon.
We will feature traditional Marzen style Oktoberfest and German eats including sausage, sauerkraut and warm German potato salad.

Sidney’s Oktoberfest is one of the most popular festivals in western NebraskaWhen: First full weekend in October Friday through Sunday.What: 3- day festival includes: live bands, parade, floats and fans attending from surrounding states. Schedule:
- Friday starts off with the tapping of the keg at noon and free entertainment all afternoon and into the evening, with a dance held Friday night under the big tent with a top quality band.
- Saturday’s 10am Oktoberfest Parade is huge, with large crowds, antique cars, community floats, clowns and top quality bands that often includes Denver’s Bagpipe band marching in full Scottish regalia. There is High School Band competition held at the Sidney High School Football field Saturday afternoon. Saturday night finishes up with another dance held under the big tent with a top quality band.

Oktoberfest started in 1810 in Bavaria to celebrate the wedding of Prince Ludwig I. Today Norfolk area residents celebrate the area’s German heritage and the fall harvest every year with a two day family festival.
