Here's a new and unique event coming to Omaha in July. Beer and yoga hosted by Farnam House and The Beer Yogis on July 13th. The ladies behind The Beer Yogis, Melissa Klimo‐Major and Mikki Trowbridge, are going on a one month, nation-wide tour of craft breweries hosting yoga classes at each one. The benefits of yoga are increasingly well-known, and we all know the benefits of craft beer. Why not put the two together? Check the press release below for more details.
Beer Yogis’
Cross-County Tour Shares Benefits of Yoga and Celebrates American Craft Brews
Limited city tour visits Omaha in July
SALEM, OR — June 12, 2016 —There’s a
new event coming to cities across the U.S. celebrating two top industries—craft
beer and yoga. Experienced yoga
teachers, Melissa Klimo-Major and Mikki Trowbridge, have come together to
launch The Beer Yogis and embark on a month-long, nationwide tour promoting the
benefits of yoga inside some of the country’s major craft breweries. Both women
are E-RYT 200 credentialed yoga instructors and committed to sharing the
benefits of yoga along with their appreciation for a good craft ale.
The Beer
Yogis events are held only at craft breweries—allowing participants to visit
their local brewery and see how their favorite brews are made, try samples and
practice Vinyasa yoga all under one roof. The yoga sessions are designed for
all levels of skill, whether a novice or more experienced, and to create a
connection of self and a connection to others.
“We decided
to take this concept across America this summer after seeing the great response
to our New York City trip last fall,” said Melissa Klimo-Major. “We want to enhance
a yoga community where everyone feels welcome and look forward to celebrating
the relationships that are built through these yoga and beer events,” said
Mikki Trowbridge.
The tour,
which kicks off on June 29 in Ohio, will make a stop in Omaha for an event
hosted by Farnam House Brewing Company on July 13th. The summer tour
spans almost two dozen locations across the country, including breweries in the
instructors’ hometowns of Cleveland and Salem, Oregon.
“Farnam
House is thrilled to be able to host this event in our brewery. The mindfulness
employed in both yoga and brewing unites these two loving communities, and
we’re excited to be able to share our craft with The Beer Yogis. We hope that
this experience will help to introduce those who may not be familiar with our
product to our trademark style of Saisons, Farmhouse ales, and sour beers and
give them the opportunity to try our locally-sourced menu. Special thanks to
The Beer Yogis for including us on their nationwide tour and we are excited for
what the future holds for pairings of yoga and beer,” said Gillian Cromwell of
Farnam House.
