I had heard about this article so I decided to track it down and post it on here for people that haven't seen it or read it. This was the first time I noticed Don's name on everything at the State Fair but it sounds like it is a regular occurrence, I was just happy to place with a couple of mine. He sounds like he is a true brewer too, understanding that sharing the craft is the enjoyment. Congrats Don and I hope to make a run at you one day. :-)

That's awsome! Congrats Don. I brewed my first batch in the Air Force also.
Are we supposed to get score sheets back for the State Fair competition? Do they mail them? Do I have to pick it up? Sorry for the stupid question, but this was my first competition, so I'm not really sure how these things work.
You will get your scoresheets back, it usually takes a little over a month from the judging day I believe. It really is hit or miss though. Not a stupid question at all. Your first competition it always seems like it takes forever to get the results back. Patience is the key with comps. and I still don't have it. :-)
Anybody know exactly how many beers Don entered into the NSF contest?
This was my first year entering and will be anxious to see the results too.

Great story. The beers that I tasted were fantastic!!! The story said that Don is retired....Oh, maybe that is the secret to being a great homebrewer....lots of time to brew! Ha Ha Ha Ha
