Empyrean Beer Quest - Winter Ale - Registration Closed

Well once again, Empyrean/Lazlo's will be holding BEER QUEST. The tasting event where the winner of the public taste-off gets to help brew their beer on Empyrean's system, and it's served in Lazlos and Fireworks restaurants, as well as other local places that may buy kegs.

Beer Quest is open to all-grain brewers in the Lincoln or Omaha area, although they *might* allow some of our more Central-Nebraska brewers to enter. ;-)

This time, we will be brewing Winter Ales. Should be (yet) another great event!

The tasting event will be at the Downtown Lincoln Lazlo's on Nov 18th. Tix go on sale Oct 1.

What makes a Winter Ale? Well, the contest guidelines are:
"Technically any Ale style could be termed a "Winter Ale" - historically these are English style beers ranging from mild to export strength, and from golden to black, some hoppy, some not, some spiced, some not. Feel free to experiment."

Email notification went out to the 21 brewers quick enough to sign up:

Brewers,
Man you guys make my job easier every time we do this! Less than 24 hours after posting registration forms Beer Quest is full.

Our 21 brewers are:

Thank you all for entering in such a quick fashion. Didn’t make it into this Beer Quest? Don’t forget, he who mashes early - drinks first!

We should be announcing registration for our February Beer Quest – which will be for Lager beers – around Halloween – keeps your eyes open!

Cheers!
Jim
Thanks to Jim and Empyrean for creating (and maintaining!) this great event - This will be either the 16th or 17th Beer Quest, which I believe is held roughly 4 times per year.

I've tried to get on that email list several times without success. Is there someone else I should contact besides jengelbart @ ... ?

Eric, I would check your filtering software on your email and contact Jim by phone at the brewery too. I had the same problem. I get all kinds of email from Jim but the minute he sends out this notification it goes to my junk folder which I don't check very often. Something about how he sends it that screws everything up in my system. Those are my suggestions anyway.

We will also try to get this posted next time before it closes out. The problem is that it closes out in about a day.
