Do you know what Saturday is??

Is it:

A - The Great Nebraska Beer Fest

B - The 3rd year anniversary of this very blog

C - August 28th, 2010

D - All of the Above

That is right, we are 3 years old on Saturday so while you are out enjoying a nice beverage at the Great Nebraska Beer Festival or out enjoying a craft beer period, raise a pint and toast all that have and continue to bring this blog to you.

I started this thing in 2007 because I felt disconnected with what was going on in beer in the state of Nebraska.  I also felt like we were under represented as a homebrew and craft brew community nationally and felt something needed to be done to rectify it.  I am proud to say that my goals are being reached and exceeded every day.  We are not fully responsible by any means because, after all, if the state produced crappy beer no one would listen, but in the last 3 years we have seen a very large increase in the quality of beer available from the local breweries and the access to quality craft beer across the state has greatly improved.

So thanks to all that read, write and participate in this blog and in the craft beer scene in the state.  Without you, I couldn't get quality craft beer in Broken Bow, NE or other far off places in the state.

All that being said, we can go further and will go further.  Our blog has really stepped up it's game in the last couple months and we hope that is only the beginning.  For starters, we are working on a beer festival of our own.  You will also begin to see us at more and more events with a more prominent representation.  We also hope to increase the quality and quantity of the posts, in order to do that though we need your help.  I am always getting email from people telling me about beer stories, keep them coming.  It would be great too, if instead of just sending the link, share your experience at an event, chronicle it with pictures, I will post it.  I welcome anyone and everyone to share with the world the great things about the Nebraska craft beer scene.

Finally, as always, bring your criticism too.  I am an open minded individual and will listen to anything and everything.  It may not be changed but it will be considered.  The one thing to keep in mind about this place, it was and is meant to be a place to promote and develop the beer scene in Nebraska for everyone's benefit.

Thanks again everyone and I look forward to this going on for many years to come.
