Oh do we have a treat for this Friday. From our favorite Dutch brewery De Molen, we will be tapping a keg of thier rich and delicious Russian Imperial Stout 'Disputin'. This is a beer with quite the background, as it has not always been gone by that name. Originally it went by 'Rasputin' (named after the legendary Russian monk Grigori Rasputin), but as it states right on the label of their bottled version “This stout used to be called Rasputin, but the people who make Old Rasputin in California thought you were too dumb to tell the two products apart, and threatened to sue us for trademark infringement”. Aside from everything surrounding the rights to the name, Disputin is deep dark amber in color with notes of sweet caramel, licorice and chocolate. Weighing in at 10.7% ABV, it's time to party in this cooler weather. See you Friday!
