*Wednesday * Lucky Bucket '2010 Certified Evil' & Meet the Brewer Tapping Party @ Bricktop

We have a real special meet the brewer/release party this Wednesday. Zac Triemert of Lucky Bucket Brewing Co. will be in house with his latest creation, the 2010 version of 'Certified Evil'.

3 years ago, Zac teamed up to create a Belgian Dark Strong Ale with the brewers from Flossmoor Station in Illinois and FiftyFifty Brewing Company in California. This was the first edition of what is known across the country as 'Collaborative Evil'.

From the Lucky Bucket website, "The new Certified Evil recipe is more complex and interesting than the brew from 2008. This new beer blends Certified Evil aged in Cabernet barrels for one year with a younger batch of oaked aged Certified Evil. The combination makes for a vibrant yet smooth and elegant taste. The recipe also includes a wide variety of complex sugars including turbinado sugar, molasses and honey. To ensure this sweetness is balanced, a small amount of Lucky Bucket IPA is blended into the beer building a nice dry finish. The result is an amazingly complex beer. Truly a must try to any craft beer lover."

Please join us as we celebrate this years version of Zac's 'Certified Evil'. This Wednesday starting at 5 PM, feel the evil!

"Please join us as we celebrate Zac's version of the porter, in this year's 'Certified Evil'. "

Are we sure about this? I thought the Certified Evil was still the Belgian Dark Strong. Was looking at the new label for the 12oz bottles but didn't see that it was a different style beer, of course I was noticing he small details like the skull. BTW word is it wont be in bombers this year but rather 4-packs of 12oz bottles.

I think I recall seeing that same description somewhere else...maybe their Facebook page.

I have always considered a Belgian Dark Strong too. Perhaps they went a different direction with the beer this year.

Now I really need to have a taste to see if it changed.

I think this years beer is called Collaborative Evil and that may be the problem. I will see if I can get Zac to chime in.

Just did some quick looking, Certified Evil is the Belgian Dark Strong as Chris mentioned and Collaborative Evil is the Baltic Porter. I am not sure what is being served tonight but I believe it will be the Certified Evil because Zac's facebook page has been all about the bottling of that beer. Collaborative Evil I believe was only a brewhouse and GABF run and wasn't made available anywhere else. All that being said, Jason or Zac need to clarify on the event tonight.

Sorry for the confusion, my fault. I have updated the post.

@Nate - Don't forget that Certified Evil started as Collaborative Evil for 2008 GABF and was so well received that Zac made it permanent as Certified Evil.

Personally, if the Certified Evil Belgian Dark is going to be a seasonal beer in the fall/winter I would love to see the Baltic Porter be available some other season. It is/was a testy beer. I intentionally went to the brewery for the public tour the first Thursday after GABF just to taste it and if I recall correctly they only had 20 gallons or so left at that time.
