Granite City Bottled Beer

photo: city-data.com

Noticed this on their latest newsletter.  I didn't see any details on where this was being distributed.  I would assume Nebraska would be included, since we have 2 locations in the state.

We are right on track with the bottling of our Northern Light Lager, medium bodied Brother Benedict's Bock and Duke of Wellington IPA. all in 12 ounce bottles.  As a matter of fact, we just brewed the beer on Thursday, February 10.  That's right; soon you will be able to go out to your local liquor or grocery stores and buy the great taste of GCFB's handcrafted brews in six packs.  Can't wait to share this with you.

I wouldn't assume that because they have two locations here that we will see the bottled beer here, at least not in the near term. Since the restaurants ferment the on site they don't have to have a distributor in Nebraska. Once they want to distribute to regular retailers they will need to find a distributor that is willing to carry them, etc. I would expect to see them in their home state of Iowa first and if they get a decent reception from beer drinkers in Iowa then they might pursue other states. Of course it doesn't help that last year the state of Nebraska made it more expensive to get a new brand into the state.

Very true Chris but wasn't that a pretty small amount for a company like GC? I was thinking like $1000 right?

I definitely defer to you though.
