Winter Tilt from Empyrean is now available

(Lincoln, NE) – For the third time this year, Empyrean Brewing Co. has begun bottling one of its seasonal beers, previously only available on draft. The company, which recently began bottling Aries Marzen Oktoberfest, has decided to follow suit with Winter Tilt Festiv’Ale which is scheduled to hit store shelves in late October.

“People have been asking us for more,” says Sales Manager Ben Matya. “We simply can’t restock the shelves fast enough; people crave our limited availability seasonal beers.”

In the past, Empyrean was limited to offering their seasonal selections on draft only. This is no longer the case, thanks to the brewing capacity from an expansion in the fall of 2010.

The name is inspired by the tilting of the Earth’s axis which triggers the changing of the season. The beer is a bit of a brewer’s whim, the recipe changing slightly from year to year. This year’s festiv’ale is a spin on the traditional Belgian Red ale.

Matya describes it as “ruby in color, with the aroma of fresh biscuits and caramel with a tart center and crisp finish that is reminiscent of citrus and cedar. And it’s strong enough to ward off winter’s looming chill.”

Packaged in 6-packs, Matya says it will be stocked in select stores late next week, starting in Lincoln (at Hy-Vee, Russ’s Market, Super Saver, The Still, N-Street Liquor and Moran’s) and Omaha (at Hy-Vee and Beertopia). Other markets will follow.

Empyrean brands are available in Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, North and South Dakota.  Packaging more than 5,500 barrels of beer last year, Empyrean Brewing Co. offers eight to ten varieties at any one time. Six of these are bottled on site and distributed year round, while seasonal selections are available on draught and 6-packs bottles.
