Friday (3/30) tapping parties for the Lincoln & Omaha Jake's
LINCOLN JAKE'S: Friday will be a fun tapping/meet the brewer party for Lincoln's latest brewery on the scene, Blue Blood Brewing Company. Come on down and be one of the first to try their new stout, and share a pint with brewer Brian Podwinski.
Brewery description "We have 467: Ethan's Stout which is 5.6% ABV and 30 IBU's. We named the beer after a great man who attended the Grand Island Police Academy with Jason. Ethan wanted to be an officer but before that dream was realized his life was tragically cut short by cancer. This stout is balanced with the roasted barley coming through but the caramel malts supporting it making it very easy drinking and full of flavor."
4:00 pm Jake's Lincoln (14th & P St.)
OMAHA JAKE'S: With all this beautiful weather upon us, Omaha has a real treat this Friday with the tapping of Straffe Hendrik Tripel from the De Halve Maan brewery in Brugge, Belgium.
Brewery decription "Straffe Hendrik was an authentic Bruges' Tripel beer: a strong and rich beer with lots of flavours (malt, caramel and hop) and 9% abv. In the past, lots of Bruges' breweries produced a Tripel Style Bruges' Ale, a “Brugse Tripel”. In fact, it was a local specialty. Today, Straffe Hendrik is the last authentic Bruges' Tripel Beer.
In 1988, the label was transfered to another brewery and the production in Bruges decreased until it stopped completely. In 2008, exactly 20 years later, Xavier Vanneste brought the label back to Bruges. Ever since, Straffe Hendrik is being brewed in Bruges according to the original recipe and enjoys once again an excellent reputation amongst the people of Bruges who have "their Tripel" back."
5:30 pm Jake's Omaha (62nd & Maple)
