Zipline Brewhouse Assembly Has Officially Begun!

From the Zipline website:

While I am hunkered down at home overseeing the growth and development of our new baby, James had the opportunity to travel to Portland, Oregon over the weekend to oversee the development of our other baby: the brewhouse!  What we call "the brewhouse" is a loose term to describe all our fermentation and conditioning tanks, milling equipment, boil kettle, and mash tun.  Basically all the tools we need to make tasty, local craft brew.  JV Northwest (JVNW) (located just outside of Portland in Canby) officially started the process of assembling our brewing equipment, and James got a sneak peak at the goods.  JVNW has long provided quality brewing equipment to the craft beer industry.  It's a good feeling to work with such a solid company, and to know that the equipment we are getting is made in the United States, and built to last.

While there is much to be done (the progress board below shows a finish date in early August--we are the light pink at the bottom), he also had the opportunity to sneak a peak at Barley Brown's brewhouse, which is an identical twin to ours and just ahead of us on the progress board. I'll walk through the pictures and give a brief description.

Below is a 40 barrel fermenter that is identical to ours, but is actually going to Barley Brown's in Oregon.  James is a pretty tall guy, so that gives you a good idea of the size.  We will have two of these 40 barrel fermenters, and two that are 20 barrels.

This is the progress board at JVNW. We are in light pink at the bottom, slated to be done with fabrication by early August. This puts us a little behind our initial (optimistic) estimate for a late July delivery, so we are now looking at mid-August delivery.

The remaining pictures are a picture of the JVNW warehouse, and various Zipline Brewing Co. parts and pieces. The round stainless parts are the tops of tanks, there's a grist case that holds our milled grain before it mixes with water and enters the mash tun, and there is also a shot of Barley Brown's mixer blade which will go into the mash tun. We will have an identical mixer in our tun.
