From Jake's Cigars & Spirits:
Friday (3/1) tapping parties for the Lincoln & Omaha Jake's
LINCOLN JAKE'S: Yet again, a super amazing double tapping is lined up for this Friday. A Lincoln Lagers Homebrew Club original brewed by Blue Blood, and treat from Sierra Nevada's Ovila series.
Blue Blood & Lincoln Lagers Collaboration American Brown Ale: Last May was the Lincoln Lagers Homebrew Club's annual Challenge. Members of the club got together to brew 100 gallons of beer, which they split up so 18 members could create 18 completely different beers. The finished beers would later go head-to-head in a contest where club members voted on their favorite version, and the winning beer was to be brewed at Blue Blood on their big system. Lager member Paul Breitkreutz's fantastic American Brown Ale was the big winner, and we will be celebrating his beer this Friday. Come down and have a pint with Paul, and enjoy his champion brew.
Sierra Nevada Ovila Abbey Quad With Plums: Brewery description- "Ovila Abbey Quad is heady with aromas of caramel, rich malt, and dark fruit balanced by the spiciness and delicate fruity notes of a traditional Belgian yeast. This complex beer is a collaboration between Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and the monks of the Abbey of New Clairvaux. It features sugar plums grown on the grounds of the Abbey and harvested by the monks in Vina. We hope you enjoy this collaboration ale."
5:00 pm Jake's Lincoln (14th & P St.)
OMAHA JAKE'S: Odell Brewing Company has blessed us with a delicious keg of Amuste, a porter brewed with grape juice and aged in wine barrels.
Brewery description- "Must is to wine as wort is to beer; the primordial ooze, the source and foundation, that feeds the process of fermentation we all love so much. Amuste is the culmination of a two year endeavor to marry these two fuels into the same fire. An imperial porter aged in oak wine barrels accented with juice from Tempranillo grapes grown on the western slope of Colorado, this harmonic combination is truly, a must."
5:00 Jake's Omaha (62nd & Maple)
