Perennially one of the top brewers in the world, Mikkel Borg Bjergsø (the Godfather of Gypsy Brewers) is famous for his prolific variations, experiments and specifically his Beer Geek series of coffee beers originating with Beer Geek Breakfast (first brewed in 2006 in Denmark).
Mikkeller is likely best known in Lincoln as the brewer of Peace and Bourbon Barrel Peace (both brewed in Belgium). While Mikkeller's gypsy days continue at borrowed breweries in Belgium, Norway and other places, they recently worked with Alesmith to take over their existing San Diego brewery after Alesmith moved on to a new facility not far down the road. Nebraska is the first market outside of Southern CA and the Bay Area to get a glimpse of the now maybe-not-a-gypsy-brewer's beers.
